The ���������� and Florida Polytechnic University have signed a memorandum of understanding to allow for the development of new international research collaborations between the University and Finland. The partnership creates a new Fulbright Visiting Chair award for Finnish researchers and scholars to conduct research at the University and work with its students and faculty. Florida Polytechnic University is the only state university in Florida dedicated exclusively to STEM education. 

“I am delighted to open this new opportunity with Florida Polytechnic University,” the ����������ion CEO Terhi Mölsä said. “Our researchers will now have another strong partner in furthering their work in fields such as engineering and technology.”

“It’s very gratifying to see the tremendous growth of Florida Poly’s reputation as an outstanding international research partner,” said Dr. Randy Avent, President of the Florida Polytechnic University. “Our agreement with the ���������� will drive our University community toward even greater exposure to global research and ideas while providing exceptional academic opportunities for local and Finnish scholars.”

“The Finnish education system is one of the best education systems in the world,” said Mustapha Achoubane, Associate Director of International Relations at Florida Poly. “This collaboration will boost our efforts toward attracting intellectual capital to better serve the University, region, and the state of Florida at large.”

The new Visiting Chair is co-funded by Florida Polytechnic in partnership with the ����������ion. The Chair is focused on research pertaining to any of the following general subject areas: computer science, computer engineering, data science, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, and autonomous vehicles.
